WHAT IS THIS?
nzʉmbe - grotesque position is an album of conceptual, experimental, and lo-fi songs by Miguel Prado that is intended to be released as a 12” vinyl LP. Crowfunding funded.
This is a big game, a Potlach of our times. The sponsors/Patrons develops an essential role, they can choose how will be the record that you will receive at home, deciding the title of the album, the length, genre and instrumentation of the songs … or even if you want, you can purchase the copyright of the album and nzʉmbe project or force the destruction of all copies of the album.
nzʉmbe - grotesque position reflects on:
2. The value and reputation of a name.
3. The technics of positioning and networking.
Based on the rewards gained through the contributions, we will try to:
nzʉmbe - grotesque position would take place within a period of 3 months following the fundraiser. Funding is needed for mastering, cutting, duplication (300 copies), design, printing, shipping, distribution, and the costs of their eventual destruction (see next point).
ADVISORY
The last reward (the 1300€ contribution) involves the destruction of all copies. The destruction of all copies would negate any possibility of sending copies of the record to patrons or sponsors. However, patrons or sponsors will receive a refund of their monetary contributions and an envelope that is labeled with the names of the contributors and contains the dust of the destroyed album.
In the case that this award coincides with the awarding of copyright purchase, the new copyright owner will receive a refund of their monetary contribution and retain their copyright.

During such economically unprosperous days, there may be people who can not afford to–or do not want to–carry out a financial contribution, yet this does not invalidate one’s active participation. BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Miguel Prado (A Coruña, 1985) is an artist who works with improvisation, sound, silence, and performance. Prado attempts to challenge the notions and roles of the spectacle: authorship, artistic production, and expectation. Prado is interested in anonymous interventions and experimental practices that enable unreified and unstable situations. Miguel Prado’s work is not subject to copyright.

- The role of subjectivity in art production as producers and/or spectators.
- The role played by both the artist and the contributor determining the content and material attributes of this object to be manufactured.

- Exercise transparency and objectivation of the work.
- Open up the controversial issues of the project: the method of financing, the position of the artist, and the patron itself.
- Decide to determine an aspect of the album, risking our position and challenging the author.
